Academic Philosophy
Academic philosophy
Learn effectively, and develop their full potential.
That is the school's own first aim, in its own words — and everything on this page is the arrangement it has built to keep it.
- 01
Learn effectively
Learn effectively and develop their full potential.
- 02
Carry it forward
Acquire the attitudes, skills, and knowledge that will form the basis for their future living and learning.
- 03
Stand on their own
Develop in children a degree of independence and self-motivation.
- 04
Treat others well
Encourage behavior that is tolerant, sensitive to others and reflects good manners and moral awareness.
Teaching philosophy
One sentence governs every lesson
“Incorporate Technology, a theory of Multiple Intelligence and Collaborative learning in all areas of teaching.”
Sunbeam School Ballia, on its own teaching
-
Technology
Interactive panels in every room, and Microsoft-certified teachers behind them.
-
Multiple Intelligence
A theory the school names outright — that a class does not have one kind of mind in it.
-
Collaborative learning
Findings compared and defended in the group, in every subject.
Student-centred learning
Classrooms are places of curiosity and collaboration
The Principal's phrase, not ours. What sits behind it is a stated commitment to a secure, caring, friendly and well-organised environment — and to children who can work without being driven.
“Every child feels valued, safe, and inspired to achieve their full potential.”
Mrs. Arpita Singh · Principal
Experiential & inquiry-based
Met in the hand before it is met in the exam
The school does not only say this. These are activities it has run and published — each one a thing done rather than a topic covered.
- Little Agriculturists Sowing seeds, in the ground.
- Chandrayaan-3 The soft landing, watched live.
- Science & Mathematics exhibition Built, then explained to a visitor.
- Gallery walks Work on the wall, defended out loud.
- Living Newspaper The week, performed.
- Taramandal The sky, in a planetarium.
Critical thinking & creativity
Nurturing character, not only
imparting knowledge
The Principal's distinction. The school's own examples of it are competitive and creative in equal measure — a national AI festival, an annual production, an award for reading.
- 01
Indian AI Impact Festival
Entered nationally, from the school's own robotics and computing rooms.
- 02
Genesis
The annual production — “Voyages of Discovery”, and before it “The Shades of Progressive Society”.
- 03
Ardent Reader Award
Reading recognised as an achievement in its own right.
