Career Guidance

A day that starts in the hall and ends at a table, with one student on the other side of it.

A conversation that counts

It openswith a room.

The programme begins as a single session for the whole senior school. A visiting speaker takes the hall on a lapel microphone under a deck headed “Dream BIG aim HIGH”, opening on a line from Swami Vivekananda — “knowledge does not mean simply intellectual assent, it means realisation.”

Beside the stage the school has chalked one word on a blackboard and left it there: CAREER. Twenty-six photographs of the day were published, and a second day separately.

The school does not publish who spoke or what was covered — his name is printed on the slide behind him but cannot be read with certainty, so it is not guessed at here. The full gallery is under School Activities.

One-to-one counselling · Classes X & XI

One student, one counsellor

Oneat a time.

The school’s own hand-painted banner sets the audience, and it is a specific one: “Career Counseling — Class X & XI — Your Journey.” Behind that banner the day stops being an assembly. Each student takes a chair opposite a counsellor working from a laptop, and several bring a parent or an elder sibling to sit alongside.

  1. 01 Career counselling · Classes X & XI One-to-one at a desk, a counsellor working from a laptop, a file of papers between them, and a parent or elder sibling welcome in the next chair.
  2. 02 Guiding Futures · Classes IX – XII Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Pandey, IRS, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax — his own educational journey, not a careers deck.
  3. 03 On-campus guidance A career counselling desk for subject choice, stream selection and university guidance, listed on the school’s own facilities inventory.
  4. 04 Counsellors BCS Counsellors — trained counsellors available to students, apart from the careers programme.
  5. 05 Published record Twenty-six photographs of day one, and a second day published separately. Neither carries an account of who spoke.

What it gives

Clarity today,confidence tomorrow.

  1. 01

    Understand yourself

A conversation that starts with the student rather than with a list of careers.

  2. 02

    Explore possibilities

A serving officer describing the route he actually took, to four year groups at once.

  3. 03

    Make informed decisions

Subject choice and stream selection, discussed at the desk in Class X — the year before it lands.

  4. 04

    Plan your journey

University guidance, followed through to the placement board the school prints at the end of it.

The stream choice this leads to is on Subject Selection Guidance; where it ends up is on University Counselling. The counselling desk itself is on the facilities inventory.

A day, in two halves

Your journey, in their words.

The school publishes the programme, the year groups it is for, and twenty-six photographs of the first day. It does not publish who spoke, what was covered, or how a family books a session — and none of that is invented here.
